Hot Chocolate - A Big Success

On February 13th, The High School PTA and the Entrepreneur Club at the high school hosted the Big Hot Chocolate Giveaway.
We served 960 cups of hot chocolate to all the students and staff at the high school. It was a great way to warm them up for the day ahead. Students from the Entrepreneur Club poured and served the hot chocolate as the students exited the busses near the B gym.
They then served more hot chocolate to students at the breaks.
We would like to thank Chris Defranco and her kids and Connie Peese and Dick Gatto (high school cochairs) for arranging this SWEET event. We would also like to thank Marketplace for the donation of the hot chocolate, BJ's at Eastview for the donation of the cups, the Central Kitchen staff for their help and materials and the Mendon Church for their coffee pots.
Discussion centered around maybe making this an annual affair. Let us know your reactions.

Family Fun Night

It's another wonderful Family Fun Night to be hosted at the High School on February 9th from 6-8:30. There will be fun activities for all family members. Our beloved Superintendent Dr. Kavanaugh has this message for everyone.

"We will be kicking off the week with a communitywide celebration of “Living Well in HF-L,” and we invite you to join us. On February 9, from 6:00 – 8:30 pm, the HF-L High School will host our third annual Family Fun Night, with healthy snacks and wellness activities for all ages, including:

• Inflatable “rides”
• Volleyball, ping pong, badminton and hackeysack
• Cards and board games
• Pool and Wellness Center activities
• Yoga and therapeutic massage

This year’s Wellness Fair promises to be every bit as exciting as the past two have been! A welcome addition to the evening’s agenda will be the kickoff of our annual Community Reads program. This year, we’ll be reading the book Rules, by Cynthia Lord.

Free shuttle service between the Manor School and High School during Family Fun Night will be available to help alleviate crowded parking conditions. Guests may park at the High School, or park at the Manor School and take the shuttle. All events, activities and snacks at the Wellness Fair are free!

This will be a no homework night! "

Hope to see you all there.
